The timeless charm of red and white marble
Bring the scent of France into your kitchen

Product Description:
This is a set of vintage French enamel canisters. The red and white marble pattern is striking, giving them a lovely yet elegant appearance. Each container is labeled in French with "SUCRE" (sugar), "CAFE" (coffee), "PÂTES" (pasta), "CHICORÉE" (chicory), and "POIVRE" (pepper), evoking the scene of an old European kitchen. All containers are nestable, allowing for compact storage. The bottom of each features a "crown and olive" mark and "B.B." engraving, along with size numbers (12, 10, 9, 8, 7). The possibility of some sizes being missing is part of their antique charm. (R070107)

Special Note:
The "nesting" design was a very common functional feature in European and American household and kitchen items from the late 19th to mid-20th century. Many homes at the time had limited storage space, so the nestable design, which allowed items to be stored compactly when not in use, was highly practical. Especially during the post-war reconstruction period and in urban areas, space-saving designs for small kitchens were prioritized. For producers and trading companies, nesting also reduced space during packaging and transport, leading to cost savings. Containers, cooking utensils, and tableware from this era were often sold as "sets" of different sizes, and those designed to be nested together were highly favored. Enamel is durable and smooth, so nesting caused less friction and scratching, making enamel nesting sets particularly popular.
