It once illuminated someone's room, telling a story.
Faded red and wax remnants silently narrate time.

Product Description:
This antique glass, with its handcrafted feel, was actually used in European homes. It stands about 7cm tall, a small vessel that fits perfectly in the palm of your hand. While possessing a thick, solid texture, its rim has a rough, unfinished feel due to imprecise processing. This unfinished quality is a testament to the warmth of handcraftsmanship, unlike mass-produced industrial goods. The base is engraved with "2040," likely indicating a manufacturing lot or mold number. Furthermore, the inner bottom retains traces of wax, suggesting it was once used as a candle holder. The exterior of the vessel shows scattered remnants of its original red paint, a memory that persists even as its color has faded. (R070144)

Specifications:
・Size: Approx. 7cm high, approx. 6.3cm rim diameter
・Material: Glass
・Era: Estimated early 20th century
・Origin: Europe (details unknown)
・Mark: "2040" engraved on the base
・Condition: Paint peeling, rough rim, wax residue inside / No chips or major cracks

Recommended Points:
・Traces of a candle holder, combining utility with a story.
・Remnants of paint evoke the aged charm unique to antiques.
・The rough rim tells of the imperfect beauty of hand-blown or molded glass.
・Its thick, stable form makes it ideal as a holder for candles or air plants.
・Enjoyable whether displayed or used—a calming presence with every use.

Special Notes:
This glass vessel was likely cold-painted. This means the paint was applied directly to the surface at room temperature, and as such, it gradually peels off due to water, friction, UV light, and time. In fact, most antique glass pieces "do not retain their paint," and conversely, the peeling state is sometimes valued as authentic aging. Paint was a cheaper way to enhance appearance than colored glass, serving as an accent for gifts, ceremonies, or household use. For temporary uses like festivals or church events, the "peeling" nature was not an issue.
